My daughter is involved in a research project at Providence College called Kids Think. This is a great article that the professor in charge of the project posted that I wanted to share. It has been such a pleasure to teach your children and I have you to thank for that. Many of you are already doing what is suggested in this article and I can see that in the children that walked through my door in September.

All 3 have Fledged!
At the end of the day, we turned on the eagle cam and it had a new focus! Below is a video that answers one of our questions - will the parents continue to bring food to the nest? |

Today We Made BUTTER!!!!!
In the story Manny's Cows:
- It was the end of school, Manny didn't think he could take a vacation because of his 500 cows!
- He found a way to take his 500 cows to Niagra Falls.
- There was a big problem when the 500 cows all went to the gift shop!! It was a mess!!
- One cow ran out of the store with a bucket of cream and fell over the falls.
- When he landed it had turned to butter and everyone wanted to buy the butter and Manny could pay for the damages. They had enough money to ride home in style!
So we decided to try and make butter!
- Buy heavy cream. Leave it out for a couple of hours.
- Pour heavy cream into a mason jar. Fill it 1/2 way.
- Put a marble in the jar.
- PUT THE TOP ON TIGHT!
- Shake it VIGOROUSLY!
- Watch it turn to butter.
- Take off the top, pour out the buttermilk.
- Pour the butter into the bowl.
- Add salt and stir.
- Enjoy it!
We got to try it on corn muffins and bread. YUM! YUM!

Author Visit
Today we had a visit from author/illustrator, Susie Becker.
She taught us:
- Cows have four stomachs!
- Cows give us milk from their pink udders!
- Cows chew for 14 hours a day! And have no top teeth!
- Cream when shaken turns to butter! (We might experiment with this idea this week!)
And she taught us how to draw cows and chickens!!!!!
Thank you Cove PTO!!
